Dragons of Atlantis - Troops Description

Porter

The Porter's role is to carry heavy loads for the troops.
These are beginner transport troops. They are only used for carrying small amounts of loot back from a victory. Their load is 200 units, so each Porter can only carry 200 units of resources.

Conscript

The Conscripts are beginner Melee troops.
They are very weak and this is why they are used only at the beginning of the game. After the first week of play they are usually not trained.

Spy

The Spies are the troops you will send out if you want to collect intel on other players, wilderness and Anthropus camps.
When they are in "Mission of espionage" they can only be defeated by other spies.

Requirement: Clairvoyance Level 1 and Garrison Level 2

Halberdsman

The Halberdsmen are fast melee troops.
They are usefull beginners troops but usually they are trained only in the first few weeks.

Requirement: Metallurgy Level 1 and Garrison Level 2

Minotaur

The Minotaurs are strong melee troops.
They are often used in combination with Longbowmen (Minotaurs protect Longowmen) during the first weeks of play.

Requirement:  Metallurgy Level 1, Metalsmith Level 1 and Garrison Level 3

Longbowman

The Longbowmen are long-range troops.
These are the main attackers in your army early on. These are used through out the game, but use generally ceases after more advanced Ranged troops have been trained in sufficient numbers.
Their range and accuracy improves with new advances in Weapons Calibration.

Requirement:  Weapons Calibration Level 1 and Garrison Level 4

Swift Strike Dragon

This small dragon is the faster but the weakest in the game.
They are highly effective for farming level 1-8 Anthropus Camps and are often used in battle in the later game. They are trained and used through out game play due to their lower resources requirements and speed of training.

Requirement:  Dragonry Level 2, Rapid Deployment Level 1, Rookery Level 1 and Garrison Level 5

Dragons Of Atlantis Guide - Troops overview

Your army on Atlantide is your strength in the battle, and your first source of resources! With a good army you can attack wilderness and anthropus camps, protect yourself from enemy attacks and especially gain power for each individual item. Each troop types gives a specific power if trained and lose soldiers in battle means losing power in the game! To create an army need to have a garrison.


In this table you can see the resources you need to train the troops 


Important:
1) The power increases when troops are properly trained and decrease when they die!
2) If You do not have enough food to maintain the army, the troops begin to die automatically!
3) The hourly production of food can be negative but as long as you have food reserves in the warehouse, troops may continue to live. 
4) Each type of troop need an amount of resources to be trained. For each type, in its own interface, on the right are present the research carried out and resources owned, and those that still need. The red X implies that it is not yet satisfied with that particular request.

Troops Upkeep and Base Training Time

These attacks can be sent only if a Muster Point is build. Each level of Muster Point allows you to send 10,000 troops at the same time. Each attack must be commanded by a General that can be appointed in the Officers' Quarters. The generals with the attacks acquire stars which are equivalent to their strength. To equal troops therefore, win a general with more stars.

Important:
1) Once sent an attack, if you realize that you have send an incorrect number of soldiers or attacked a stronger player who will surely avenge, you can draw the attack in the Muster Point screen: clicking on the Troops and choosing from the list the one to stop.

The population is not eternal and can climb and descend on the basis of the quantity of taxes, the number of  houses (and their level) and the army possessed. Part of the population will work (in Farms, Quarries, Mines and Lumbermills) and part, if trained, will become troops. The "idle population" are all citizens who are not working or fighting: only the "idle population" can be used to recruit new troops.

Also your Dragon has power of attack and defense, very different from normal troops! Initially the Little Dragon can only defend the city, but from level 8, with the full armour, can also be used for attacks wilderness, Anthropus Campus and enemy cities.
